Medical Education Coordinator
Job Summary
The Departments of Neurology and Neurological Surgery at the University of Wisconsin, School of Medicine and Public Health are seeking an Academic Program Specialist to join our team of education administrative professionals. We invite qualified candidates to apply, we offer a fun, dynamic, and collaborative environment with opportunities for partial remote work. The candidate will work closely with curriculum leaders, and clinical and basic science faculty, on various educational and training activities for Phase 2 and Phase 3 ForWard curriculum. The candidate will coordinate inpatient and outpatient clinical experiences, as well as related learning opportunities. The candidate will work closely with medical students, and medical school faculty and staff, regarding assessments, assignments, program requirements and other administrative and educational tasks.

- Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills for interacting and building rapport with students, teaching physicians, staff and other personnel
- Excellent time management, strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, effective multi-tasking, solid project management skills and managing complex schedules
- Demonstrates independent critical thinking, sound decision-making, and the ability to adapt
Key Job Responsibilities
- Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews
- Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events
- May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.
- Assist with enrollment and coordination of undergrad students in Independent Study or other research courses for credit
- Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
