Medical Sonographer Technologist - Trainee (U) (4616)
The individual in this position is responsible for providing obstetric and gynecologic sonography services and procedures for patients at all SIU ultrasound sites under direct supervision of a registered sonographer.
Clinical Patient Care Duties
The following duties will be performed under direct supervision of a registered sonographer:
- Conduct standard sonographic exams on obstetric and gynecologic patients under direct supervision.
- Prepares patients for ultrasound examination/procedure.
- Assist attending physician in the performance of obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound guided procedures and examination.
- Completes the sonographer's portion of the imaging report with accurate information, including CPT codes for billing purposes.
- Accurately completes Touchworks encounters for billing of ultrasound exams and procedures.
- Assists with chart prep for the Sonography Unit.
- Assists with cleaning of ultrasound equipment and exam rooms.
- Assists with stocking of ultrasound supplies in exam rooms.
- Rotates through all sites/locations covered by the Central Sonography Unit.
- Works varied hours based on clinic needs.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current/valid registration, certification or licensure in Medical Sonography, accreditation in sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
