The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Medical University of Lublin, announces a competition for the position of POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER (Post-doc) in the Laboratory of Clinical Engineering Chair and Department of Neurosurgery and Paediatric Neurosurgery (as of October 1, 2026: Laboratory of Clinical Engineering, Chair of Surgery) Medical University of Lublin, to carry out research tasks for the National Science Centre OPUS 28 project entitled: “Combining Advanced Metabolic MRI at 7 T with Genomics for Improved Characterization of Grade 2/3 IDH-wildtype Astrocytoma ("Molecular Glioblastoma")”

Specific Requirements
Ph.D. degree obtained:
- in the field of exact and natural sciences: preferred disciplines are physics or chemistry or in the field of engineering and technical sciences: preferred discipline is biomedical engineering or in the field of medical and health sciences: preferred discipline is medical biology
- at the time of signing the employment contract, obtained in the year of employment in the project or within 12 years prior to January 1 of the year of employment in the project (in the case of persons who have obtained more than one doctoral degree, the reference date is the date of obtaining the first one). This period may be extended by the duration of long-term (over 90 days) documented sickness benefit or rehabilitation benefits due to incapacity for work. In addition, this period may be extended by the number of months spent on leave related to childcare and upbringing of children granted under the terms of the Labor Code, and in the case of women, by 18 months for each born or adopted child, if this method of demonstrating career breaks is more favourable.
- in an institution other than the one where the position is offered, or the candidate must have completed at least a 10-month continuous, documented postdoctoral fellowship in a foreign institution different from the Ph.D.-granting institution.
- Good practical and theoretical knowledge of MRI imaging techniques
- Experience in conducting research on a high-field system
- Previous experience in the application of statistical methods
- Fluent English, both spoken and written.
Preferred Competencies
- Additional assets will include publications in peer-reviewed journals, postgraduate diplomas, experience in implementing grants.

Benefits
- Full-time employment contract for a period of 35 months (with the possibility of extension)
- Planned start date: January 2027
- Salary: 11 666 PLN/month gross-gross (this amount includes employer and employee costs, which will be reduced by these costs. This amount also includes the annual salary, the so-called "13th month pay", paid annually in accordance with legal regulations).
Selection process
The remuneration under a full-time post-doc position in a project funded by the National Science Centre may be awarded to a person who:
- obtained their doctoral degree at an institution other than the institution where they are planned to be employed in this position, or completed at least 10 months of continuous and documented post-doctoral experience at an institution other than the institution implementing the project and in a country other than the country in which the doctoral degree was obtained;
- will be employed for a period of at least 6 months;
- during the period of receiving this remuneration, will not receive any other remuneration from funds allocated under the direct costs of research projects financed through NCN calls;
- during the period of receiving this remuneration, will not receive remuneration from another employer under an employment contract, including an employer based outside the territory of Poland;
- during the period of receiving this remuneration, will not receive pension benefits from the social security system.
Other information referred to in Article 18(3ca) of the Labour Code, including information on the amount of other employment-related benefits granted to employees in cash or in forms other than cash, as well as the relevant provisions of the remuneration regulations, will be provided by the employer before the employment relationship is established.

- legalized by a consulate in all other cases.
- Documentation confirming preferred competencies, if applicable.
Documents in languages other than Polish or English must be translated into one of these languages.
Applicants with the Ph.D. degree obtained abroad and whose degree cannot be recognized as equivalent to the corresponding Polish degree based on an international equivalence agreement may be employed only after prior recognition of the Ph.D. or if their scientific achievements are deemed significant by the Vice-Rector for Science l of the Medical University of Lublin.
Documents in languages other than Polish or English must be translated into one of these languages.
