Men's Basketball Intern
Job Details
The VCU Men’s Basketball Program is seeking detail-oriented and motivated individuals to serve as a Men's Basketball Intern. This position is ideal for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience within a Division I athletic program. The intern will work closely with the coaching and support staff to aid in film analysis, scouting, and general program operations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist staff with film breakdown for team and individual analysis.
- Support the creation of player performance reports for internal use.
- Help compile and organize opponent scouting reports, including video and statistical data.
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks, including data entry, file organization, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong interest in basketball operations, coaching, or sports analytics.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Basic understanding of basketball terminology and game flow.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and willingness to learn video editing tools (e.g., Synergy, Hudl, SportsCode).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with a basketball team (as a manager, student assistant, intern, etc.).
- Familiarity with scouting and film breakdown tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Salary Range: $15.25
