Your next career opportunity
In this role, you will deliver evidence-based training that strengthens whole-school mental health approaches across Victoria. You will coach Mental Health and Wellbeing Leaders (MHWL) to translate learning into meaningful change for students and staff. You will also contribute to research and continuous improvement of a high-profile, sector-wide initiative.

What you will deliver:

  • Guide MHWLs to develop, refine and monitor whole-school mental health and wellbeing implementation plans throughout the year.
  • Deliver core training modules and learning community sessions to adult learners, both online and in-person across Victoria.
  • Respond to training enquiries, facilitate drop-in support, and coordinate referrals of non-training issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, Canvas records and post-training administration, generating reports and insights to support project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Education, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and Faculty colleagues, contributing to outputs and continuous improvement of program content.

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification and at least five years’ experience supporting child or school mental health.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of evidence-based mental health approaches for primary-aged children, ideally gained within school or clinical settings.
  • Excel in facilitating engaging professional learning for adult participants, both face-to-face and via Zoom.
  • Manage complex workloads with excellent organisation, administration and time management skills in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Use digital tools confidently, including learning management systems, CRM platforms, Outlook and video-conferencing technologies.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, building productive relationships across schools, government, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Your new team – Mental Health in Primary Schools Initiative
The Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne leads delivery of Mental Health in Primary Schools Initiative. Working with the Victorian Department of Education and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, the team drives statewide impact. You will collaborate with educational leaders, researchers and practitioners to strengthen whole-school approaches to student mental health.
