Microbiology & Immunology, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor
The Division of Microbiology and Immunology (M&I) in the University of Utah's Department of Pathology invites applications for a new open rank (Assistant, Associate and Full) tenure-track faculty position where the candidate is expected to run a cutting-edge basic or translational research program of relevance to Microbiology and Immunology. Particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to, host-commensal/host-pathogen interactions (bacterial, viral and fungal) and/or immune responses/immunotherapies that pertain to cancer, autoimmunity, infectious disease, metabolic disease and other human disorders. Expertise in human immunology, machine learning/AI approaches, and novel functional genomics technologies are also highly valued.
The primary criteria for selection will be excellence and creativity in research and scholarship, which includes a successful track-record of publications and funding consistent with rank. Successful candidates will be expected to establish a rigorous, externally-funded, independent and collaborative research program within the microbiology and immunology field that complements both M&I division and goals. Candidates must have a MD, PhD, or DVM. Faculty rank will commensurate with experience and appointments will include competitive salaries and start-up packages.
