The Opportunity
Join the University of the Sunshine Coast as a Senior Business Analyst and play a pivotal role in transforming our business processes and systems as part of the cyber security program. We are looking for a skilled professional with a strong project delivery background in cyber security to analyse complex business structures, identify requirements, and implement impactful improvements.
In this role, you will document current and future state processes, uncover opportunities for enhancement, and consult with key stakeholders to ensure seamless, organisation-wide changes. Your expertise in cyber security will be crucial in providing accurate advice, timely support, and effective communication and training as part of our process improvement initiatives. Regular updates, detailed reports, and sound recommendations will be essential to your success in driving these projects forward.

You will
- lead the analysis of complex business processes and systems, identifying key requirements and implementing effective business changes and process improvements for our cyber security program;
- develop essential project management documents, including business cases, functional specifications, user acceptance test plans, and communication plans; and
- manage the integration of key digital projects to optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of solutions across the organisation.
About you
You’re a problem-solver who thrives on understanding and tackling business challenges to deliver impactful solutions. You excel at building and managing relationships with key stakeholders, skilfully eliciting and documenting user requirements with clear visuals. Our ideal candidate possesses a thorough understanding of business processes and user needs and communicates these effectively. You’re adept at defining project boundaries within our PMF framework, and you're always looking to enhance our dashboards and reports, keeping pace with industry trends. Your strong grasp of procurement strategies ensures compliance with UniSC’s policies, and you foster positive, ongoing communication to meet the complex information needs and priorities of our organisation.
You will possess:
- Extensive experience and advanced analytical skills, with knowledge of cyber security and ideally student information systems, research management systems, and enterprise resource planning systems.
- Proven expertise in planning, developing, integrating, and implementing digital systems, applications, and services, preferably within higher education.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to lead digital impact assessments and risk mitigation to optimise business processes.
- Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and achieving successful outcomes through collaborative relationships
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey information, gain acceptance of ideas, and engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience and knowledge of guidelines, best practices, and operating principles aligned with frameworks and methodologies such as ITIL 4.0, COBIT, NIST CSF, Agile, TOGAF, PRINCE2, DEVOPS, Six Sigma, or BPMN.
