Multiphysics fracture modelling in biomechanics with structure-preserving machine
This PhD project explores how advanced mathematical modelling and artificial intelligence can be combined to predict fracture and damage in biomechanics. The research brings together applied mathematics, computational modelling, and modern AI methods to address important challenges in healthcare, biomedical engineering, and materials science.
The student will develop mathematical and computational models that simulate how cracks form and grow in biological materials. Alongside this, the project will investigate AI approaches, including neural networks, to make these simulations significantly faster while still respecting the underlying physics.
