, Museum , assists with the daily operation of the MIT Museum Store. The Store provides earned revenue to support the MIT Museum's mission to make research and innovation accessible to all. Will assist customers in the store: answer questions, share product knowledge, make recommendations; ring up museum store purchases; retrieve, count, price, and store incoming merchandise shipments; assist with the organization and maintenance of two stockrooms; replenish store stock levels throughout the day; straighten displays; and open/close store as needed including cash register/POS and all entrances and exits. The full job description is available here: https://mitmuseum.mit.edu/connection/careers REQUIRED : High school diploma or equivalent education; excellent communication skills, enjoyment of working with the public; ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision; high energy and the ability to work in an ever-changing environment; ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, regularly and repeatedly lift up to 30 Ibs., occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, and move about a crowded store and two stockrooms; good design sense and an understanding of basic merchandising principles; and basic computer skills.
