Position Summary
The Department of Music at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in music education. All teaching will be conducted in person at the Auraria Campus, with student teaching supervision occurring at schools throughout the Denver Metro Area.
Responsibilities
- Teach 2-9 credit hours in the area of Music Education
- Responsibilities include teaching one course per semester and supervising student teachers in both elementary and secondary placements. Specific instructional needs include directing ensembles such as MUS 3824 Secondary Instrument Band (Concert) and Beginning Modern Band, teaching in the music education area through courses such as MUS 3390 Inclusive Music Classroom, and overseeing student teaching in MUS 4971 Student Teaching-Elementary and MUS 4972 Student Teaching-Secondary.
- All teaching will be conducted in person at the Auraria Campus, with student teaching supervision occurring at schools throughout the Denver Metro Area.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in music education or a closely related field
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in public school music programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Music Education or closely related field
- Supervisory teaching experience
