Nano-formulation of Lipoxins in Resolution Pharmacology: an innovative approach to tackle the “residual inflammatory risk” in Atherosclerosis.
About the Project
We are recruiting a PhD student to join the de Gaetano Lab at the School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, University College Dublin for an exciting project combining nanotechnology, pharmacology and cardiovascular research.
The project, “Nano-formulation of Lipoxins in Resolution Pharmacology: an innovative approach to tackle the residual inflammatory risk in Atherosclerosis”, will explore the development of lipid nanoparticle-based delivery systems for Lipoxins, naturally occurring molecules that promote the resolution of inflammation. The goal is to develop innovative therapeutic approaches in atherosclerosis.
The successful candidate will receive training in nanoparticle formulation, cell culture, molecular biology, RNA and protein analysis, as well as translational research using human tissues. They will join a vibrant, multidisciplinary and international research environment within the UCD Conway Institute and the Diabetes Complications Research Centre, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and postgraduate training opportunities.
