The activity will focus on the analysis, interpretation and integration of two-dimensional (2D)seismic datasets available in the public domain and within the OGS archives, with the aim of reconstructing the structural and stratigraphic architecture of the subsurface, identifying the main reservoir and caprock units, and defining the geometry of potential CO₂ storage systems. Particular attention will be devoted to the interpretation of the main geological structures, including faults, folds and key stratigraphic horizons, which may influence the storage capacity and integrity of reservoir–caprock systems. The seismic interpretation will be integrated, where available, with geological and petrophysical information derived from well data and the associated technical documentation, in order to improve subsurface characterization and constrain the interpretation of geological units and their principal petrophysical properties. The integration of seismic data, well information and geological knowledge will also enable a more realistic representation of the main geological heterogeneities and support the development of three-dimensional static geological models and conceptual models. The activities will be primarily focused on the potential CO₂ storage site in the Gissi area, where the integration of seismic data, well information and available geological knowledge will support the development of a representative three-dimensional static geological model and a conceptual model of the reservoir–caprock system. These models will provide the geological framework for subsequent assessments of storage potential, containment capacity, injectivity and future dynamic modelling of CO₂ behavior in the subsurface. The programme will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop specialist skills in seismic interpretation, the integration of geological, geophysical and petrophysical datasets, and the construction of three-dimensional static geological models for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) applications. The candidate will also gain experience in the use of specialized subsurface characterization software and in workingwithin a multidisciplinary research environment, contributing to the development of innovative methodologies for the assessment of potential CO₂ storage sites in Italy
