Position Summary
The Department of Political Science at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in Native American Studies, including courses like Introduction to Native American Studies, Native American Politics, and Federal Indian Law. Responsibilities
Affiliate faculty may teach 3-9 credit hours in Native American Studies courses. Duties include delivering course content, preparing materials, grading, providing feedback, and offering academic support. Teaching may be in-person, online, or hybrid, with sensitivity to diverse student needs.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Native American Studies or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in Native American Studies or a closely related field; or JD plus experience in Native American law.
- Higher education teaching experience in Native American Studies.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students of color, LGBTQ+ students, first-generation students, etc.
Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired per credit hour, usually semester-by-semester. Positions are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates may teach in person/on campus.
Salary
