Infrastructure team and will also work closely with the Digital Campus team and external vendors on all aspects of network infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on networking skills with a systems-oriented mindset and the ability to operate across both logical and physical infrastructure domains.
Responsibilities
- Management of the wireless network, including but not limited to controllers, access points, network access control, and SSIDs.
- Management of wired network, including but not limited to switches, routers, BGP, and network access control.
- Management of LAN and WAN firewalls, including but not limited to rule writing, troubleshooting, and threat hunting.
- Monitor systems for anomalies and proactively resolve network issues.
- Stay current with emerging technologies to support college modernization and future-facing services.
- Maintain the College's extensive fiber plant that serves all 80+ buildings on campus.
- Empower users and colleagues to solve L1 issues and collaborate with infrastructure and helpdesk colleagues on L2 and L3 tickets to support day-to-day operations.
- Documentation of campus network and fiber optic plant.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental needs.
Qualifications
- Vocational or Technical Training, required
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
- 1-3 years of work experience
- Demonstrated technical skills related to switching, routing, firewall management, wireless management, network access control rule building, and troubleshooting
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate with others within the division and across campus
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Good communication practices within and outside of the division
- Excellent customer service skills, with a clear understanding of ITIL principles
