Job Description

The Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine, committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty and staff, is seeking a fellowship-trained Neuroradiologist to contribute to our mission of clinical service, research, and education.

The division of diagnostic neuroradiology is comprised of 7 faculty members and works closely with a team of 3 interventional neuroradiologists. The division serves the University of Maryland Medical Center and its affiliated hospitals. UMMC is an acute care hospital with over 600 beds, including a Neurocare Center of Excellence and the Shock Trauma Center. Equipment includes high field MRI scanners, Biplane angiography suites, an interventional CT scanner, PET-MRI, Hyperpolarized C-13 MRI and a MRI guided focused ultrasound system. The Department also provides key support for the Center for Metabolic Imaging and Therapeutics and the Maryland Center for Advanced Imaging Research Imaging.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible for or certified by the American Board of Radiology and qualify for a Maryland medical license. Candidates must have successfully completed at least a 1-year ACGME accredited neuroradiology fellowship and be Neuroradiology CAQ-certified or eligible.

Applicants should possess experience in interpretation of MRI and CT examinations of the brain, spine, head and neck. Proficiency with basic head, neck and spine interventional procedures is expected. Expertise in pediatric neuroimaging is desirable. The incumbent is expected to actively participate in furthering the education mission of the department with the residency program and School of medicine. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clinicians, patients, and trainees are required. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and skills. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of Maryland pay scales.
