About the Project
Shape the future of national geospatial data. Interested in AI, spatial data, human-centred design, quality management and real-world impact? UCL’s Geomatics Group and Ordnance Survey are offering an exciting fully funded PhD opportunity focused on the future of Quality Management for national-scale geospatial data production.
This project sits at the intersection of: AI and automation, Human–AI collaboration, Quality Management, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), National mapping and digital data, Trustworthy and explainable AI systems.
Location
The student will be primarily based at University College London. The project also involves close collaboration with Ordnance Survey, including regular meetings, engagement with operational teams, and visits to OS headquarters in Southampton.

Stipend
Fully funded 4-year PhD studentship covering UK PhD fees, with a £27305 per annum tax free stipend in Year 1, rising with inflation.

This PhD is open to applicants eligible for UK home fee status.
