Temporary Staff - This position provides technical support for the NKU Observatory

Primary Responsibilities :

Maintaining the NKU 14-inch telescope and observatory laptop
Commissioning the new Photometric Camera for the NKU 14-inch telescope
Maintaining the Primary Instruments for the NKU 14-inch telescope (Photometric Camera and Spectroscopic System)

Developing new procedures and techniques for using the NKU 14-inch telescope and its instruments

Working on upgrades to the current NKU 14-inch telescope and its instruments

Qualifications :

Must have completed the NKU class AST 310 Observational Techniques with an A
Be familiar with computer programming especially in Python
Be able to work well both independently and with direction
Be able to work with basic hand tools
Be able to diagnose technical problems and develop solutions

Work Schedule and Pay :

Up to 20 hours a week between sunset to sunrise
$11/hour
