Department Information
Within this setting, the Department of Finance seeks to prepare students for successful careers in finance through innovative classroom instruction, experiential learning and the application of original scholarly activity developed by our faculty. This position will work to elevate the discipline through exemplary teaching, applied and pedagogical research and meaningful service.
Job Summary
Reporting to the department chair, the non tenure-track teaching faculty requires teaching at the undergraduate level and service to the department and college. The position is an academic (10 month), non-tenure track appointment.
Required Qualifications
Earned Masters degree or terminal degree in finance, or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution, by August 1, 2026 with at least 18 graduate semester hours in finance.
Evidence of sustained excellence in teaching finance at the undergraduate level
Evidence of effective written and oral communication skills
Initial and continuous faculty qualification status per AACSB guidelines
Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Terminal degree is required for the rank of non tenure-track assistant professor
Minimum of 5 years full-time college/university teaching experience at the assistant professor level is required for the rank of non tenure-track associate professor, along with a strong record of research and service with publications and presentations in professional venues.
Minimum of 5 years full-time college/university teaching experience at the associate professor level is required for the rank of non tenure-track professor, along with a strong record of research and service with substantial publications and presentations in professional venues.
Preferred Qualifications
University-level teaching experience in finance with a particular interest in teaching banking and/or derivatives courses
Experience delivering remote instruction
Ability and desire to interact with industry professionals
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
