NP Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor

The faculty member will:

• Prepare and conduct courses in conformity with outcomes of the university, Kramer School of Nursing, and approving accrediting agencies
• Evaluate student learning, skills, and abilities; and maintain records of such evaluations
• Engagement in scholarship that supports Kramer School of Nursing's mission
• Serve the University and the Kramer School of Nursing, including committee work as appropriate
• Participate in professional organizations as a member
• Adhere to all policies within the Oklahoma City University Faculty Handbook, KSN Employee Handbook, the OCU Student Handbook, and the KSN Student Handbook
• Participation in the OCU assessment program, and in student recruiting and retention efforts for KSN and the university
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Education:

• Terminal degree preferred
• Oklahoma RN with APRN recognition required
• MSN or DNP degree, Psychiatric Mental Health NP certification required
• Preference will be given to candidates who hold dual national certification as a nurse practitioner, including PMHNP certification

Experience:

• Evidence of current practice with a minimum of two years full-time equivalent practice as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting preceding the first date of first employment as a teacher.*
• Two (2) years of advanced practice nursing experience required.
• Both clinical and teaching experience are preferred, but related professional credentials will be considered.

*per requirements of the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act and Rules and Regulations of said Act. (1994)

Additional Qualifications:

• Valid license to practice as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner in Oklahoma
• National certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner
