"NTT Faculty - Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Professor of Practice - Human Development"

The SIU School of Education invites applications for a non-tenure track term faculty position in Teacher Education. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in areas related to child development, early childhood, elementary, middle level, or secondary education.

The target salary offer for this position is $3750.00 monthly. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Actual salary for part-time appointments will be prorated based on the percentage FTE of the appointment. This position is represented by SIU Carbondale Non-Tenure Track Faculty Association/IEA-NEA. Examples of Duties

1. Teach assigned courses in teacher education.
2. Support students in developing professional competencies for teaching across varied educational settings.
3. Contribute to program development and collaboration with faculty and staff.
4. Participate in continuous improvement activities and assessment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in education or a closely related field required.
2. Demonstrated commitment to high-quality instruction and support of diverse learners.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Minimum of three years of teaching experience in early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school settings.
2. Prior university-level teaching experience.
