Nuclear Medicine Radiologist

Description

The Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Radiologist for a full-time faculty appointment in the Nuclear Medicine Section. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and expanding nuclear medicine program and will play an integral role in managing and advancing a progressive clinical service. Clinical responsibilities include the full spectrum of general nuclear medicine, nuclear therapies, PET/CT, and participation in a rapidly growing theranostics program encompassing both clinical care and research activities. PET/MRI capabilities are being introduced with the installation of a new system in Yale’s $848 million Neuroscience Tower, providing exceptional opportunities for clinical innovation and translational research.

Faculty members are expected to devote a significant portion of their effort to clinical service while maintaining a strong commitment to the education and mentorship of radiology residents and nuclear medicine fellows. Teaching occurs across clinical rotations, conferences, and interdisciplinary forums.

There are outstanding opportunities for research and scholarly activity, particularly in molecular imaging. Faculty have access to the world-renowned Yale PET Center within the Yale Biomedical Imaging Institute, with established tradition in research excellence and research facilities that include a medical cyclotron, PET radiochemistry with over 40 active INDs, high resolution brain PET-CT (HRRT and NeuroExplorer), 2 whole body PET-CT, 4 whole body 3T MR, one whole body 4T MR as well as state-of-the art small animal imaging resources. Collaborative research with basic scientists, clinician investigators, and industry partners is strongly supported and encouraged.

Depending on experience and interest, candidates may pursue leadership roles, participate in program development, and engage in institutional initiatives aligned with Yale’s missions in clinical excellence, education, and discovery.
