Nurse Leader - Inpatient Critical Care (Stepdown/Hepatopancreatobiliary Unit, Memorial 18)

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Nurse Leader on Memorial 18, a 36-bed inpatient oncology unit with a hybrid model that includes an open step-down unit caring for critically ill and post-operative patients. The unit supports mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and telemetry. A fifteen-bed capacity is designated for step-down care, with dynamic patient needs ranging from long-term vented patients to high-risk post-op patients.

Role Overview:

• The Nurse Leader (NL) has authority and accountability for administrative, clinical, and human resource operations at the point of care.
• Provides leadership in alignment with the vision, mission, values, and goals of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) and the Department of Nursing.
• Utilizes the dimensions of Relationship-Based Care to cultivate an empowered and engaged work force committed to clinical excellence, quality care and service to patients and families.
• Provide clinical and administrative leadership for nursing staff by developing and implementing programs, services, procedures, and quality nursing standards to ensure exemplary care for patients admitted into acute setting.
• Will play a pivotal role in offering transformational leadership by creating and sustaining a healthy work environment that supports, furthers, and promotes excellence in patient care, clinical nursing practice, and patient safety.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. MSN preferred
• New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license/registration
• National Certification is a plus such as CCRN and/or PCCN
• A minimum of 5 years recent, related clinical experience. Critical care and/or surgical oncology experience highly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Additional Information:

• Location: MSK Main Campus, 1275 York Avenue, NY, NY 10065
• Schedule: 4/10 hr. Monday - Friday (Hours may vary depending on the needs of the department)
• Reporting to the Director Nursing (Critical Care Services)

Pay Range: $164,100.00 - $270,900.00
