Nurse Practitioner
Job Summary
A Research APP (Advanced Practice Provider, e.g., NP/PA) Nurse job involves managing clinical trials, ensuring participant safety, administering study protocols (vitals, meds, labs), collecting & documenting data per FDA/IRB rules, educating patients on trials, and collaborating with investigators, often focusing on specific therapeutic areas like oncology or rare diseases, while ensuring ethical standards and regulatory compliance are met.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Patient care
- Recruit, screen, enroll, and provide holistic care for study participants, including monitoring for adverse events and managing side effects.
Education & Consent
- Obtain informed consent and educate patients about the trial.
Collaboration
- Work closely with investigators, sponsors, other clinicians, and research staff.
Protocol Management
- Implement study protocols, administer study drugs/treatments, collect samples (blood, urine), perform ECGs, and conduct assessments.
Reporting
- May involve writing reports, preparing grant applications, and presenting findings.
Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain essential regulatory documents and adhere to ethical standards.
Leadership
- May involve supervising junior staff, managing supplies, or coordinating multi-site studies.
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program from an accredited college or university. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body. Active and unrestricted licensure to practice nursing from the Georgia Board of Nursing and via protocol with the Georgia Composite Medical Board. Must maintain status as a certified NP, including completion of all requirements for continuing nursing and medical education or recertification. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS certification or obtain within first year of employment.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: B16
Salary Minimum: $95,200/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
