(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Provide comprehensive screening, treatment, and referral services for individuals experiencing Substance Use Disorders (SUD), ensuring access to high-quality, holistic care across the life cycle. This role is integral to advancing community health through direct service delivery and educational mentorship. Serve as a clinical and academic liaison, mentoring students from undergraduate and graduate nursing, nurse practitioners, and social work programs in best practices for SUD care and community-based interventions.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs comprehensive assessments and screenings to identify substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions across campus
- Designs and implements personalized treatment plans, integrating behavioral health interventions and Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) when clinically appropriate
- Facilitates referrals to specialized providers, community-based services, and social support networks to ensure continuity of care
- Educates patients and families on substance use, harm reduction techniques, and pathways to recovery, fostering informed decision-making and empowerment
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary care teams, including physicians, therapists, case managers, and community health workers, to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
- Provides primary care services, including physical examinations, chronic disease management, preventive screenings, and treatment of acute conditions
- Diagnoses and manages common illnesses and chronic health issues, such as diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory diseases, with a focus on integrated care
- Promotes health literacy and wellness, guiding patients in disease prevention, lifestyle modification, and self-care strategies to support long-term health outcomes
- Prescribes and manages medications, ensuring safe, effective, and cost-conscious pharmacologic treatment aligned with best practices
- Mentors and supervises students from nursing, nurse practitioner, and social work programs in clinical care for individuals with substance use disorders
- Leads educational sessions and workshops on SUD treatment, trauma-informed care, and community health to enhance student and staff competencies
- Supports students learning around the social determinants of health and their influence on recovery, access to care, and patient outcomes
- Engages in interdisciplinary collaboration
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted Georgia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the field of Family Practice, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, or Psychiatric Mental Health
Required Experience
Three(3) years of related experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or primary care

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Experience in higher education
Experience with substance use disorder patients
Experience or training in Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Ability to mentor and provide clinical guidance to healthcare trainees
Ability to organize and provide educational programs for community members, staff, and students
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Strong knowledge of harm reduction principles, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing techniques
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
