"Nurse Practitioner, Inpatient Pain Team"

Position Summary/Department Summary: Nurse Practitioner Inpatient Pain Team

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing care to infants, children, adolescents, young adults with pain from acute and chronic illnesses in the inpatient setting.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams and develop a plan of care based on the source of pain and patient needs.
• Facilitating collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team and other consulting services to provide comprehensive care for optimal patient outcomes.
• Participating in quality and safety initiatives and research.
• Providing consultation and education to staff members, patients and families as needed on pertinent topics.
• 36 hours per week, less than 50% day/night rotation, 12 hour shifts, with every 4th weekend (Flexible schedule arrangements are possible for those who are seeking a set schedule and need to work less nights, weekends and or holidays)

Minimum Qualifications

Education: A Master's Degree in Nursing

Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a pediatric setting, ideally with a pediatric intensive care background. Excellent critical thinking and communication skills are required

Licensure/Certifications: A current MA NP license, BLS and PALS certification

Sign-on bonus: $4,500.00 for part-time (36 hours) APP hires (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.)
