Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Nurse Supervisor is responsible for management functions related to the delivery of patient care, as well as the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care in the PACU. Supervises and directs staff and functions in the unit while maintaining clinical nursing practice skills and unit specific expertise. Specific duties include managing Human Resources, directing patient care activities, monitoring unit budgets, and participating on departmental and medical center wide performance improvement projects. Serves as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients and others.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
- Strong customer service orientation as well as written and oral communication skills
- Must possess a minimum of 2 years current PACU experience or recent ICU experience in a critical care unit within the past 2 years.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements present in an acute care setting
- Demonstrated supervisory experience working in an acute care setting
- Complete understanding of acuity levels for the patient population
- Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN Degreee
- ANCC recognized RN certification uniquely applicable to this specific unit, (general certifications, such as WCC, will not be acceptable for meeting this requirement).
Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support

- Bachelor of Science, Nursing
