Position Summary

Washington University Cardiology is seeking an independent Nurse Supervisor to lead our Electrophysiology team across three clinic locations (CAM, CAM-South County, and West County). This leadership role manages a team of 12 Nurse Coordinators, with primary responsibility for day-to-day staffing needs, personnel management, and the creation of staff schedules.

• Team Leadership: Manage the RN team, including performance mentorship and professional development.
• Operations: Oversee day-to-day staffing needs and manage the staff schedule for three clinic locations (CAM, CAM-South, and West County).
• Clinical Oversight: Support the RN team in device interrogations, procedure coordination, triage, insurance navigation, and patient education.
• Patient Advocacy: Coordinate complex treatment plans and address social health deterrents for a growing regional patient population.
• Collaborative Culture: Work alongside 9 elite physicians, 5 APNs, and administrative staff.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervises nursing staff, including hiring/firing responsibilities, performance appraisals for subordinates, initiating disciplinary action.
• Coordinates patient services with physicians and staff to provide quality care in effective manner, conducting rounds to ensure quality of patient care delivery.
• Facilitates educational opportunities and quality improvement activities for staff to ensure compliance with medical school and regulatory guidelines.
• Assigns/coordinates activities and duties of staff orienting new staff and advising administration of conditions and performance issues.
• Provides direct patient care as needed, including development of patient care plans, administering medication, vitals, phlebotomy, monitoring IV therapies and maintaining records in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
• Promotes/maintains good public relations with patients and families, acting as liaison between other departments.
• Provides appropriate counsel to patients/families explaining medications, procedures and teaches care to ensure continuity of care and promote health care maintenance.
• Monitors supplies/equipment ordering/repairing as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program, plus a minimum of 2 years of related nursing experience.
• Current LPN or RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act.
• Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
