Brightpoint Community College invites applications for a full-time, 9-month nursing faculty position. The college seeks qualified individuals who are passionate about teaching a variety of nursing courses within DNA, LPN, and/or RN programs, delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
Full-time teaching responsibilities include:
- Teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester
- Engaging students in the learning process
- Providing clinical supervision
- Developing courses and curriculum
- Advising students
- Maintaining accurate student records
Faculty members also fully participate in nursing program development and evaluation, college activities and committees, and represent Brightpoint at community events and professional opportunities.
KSA’s/Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (must be enrolled in Master’s Degree program), Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Must have several years of experience in medical, surgical and/or pediatric nursing, excellent oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within and across institutional teams, coupled with a strong commitment to the mission of the community college. Commonwealth of Virginia nursing license or compact state nursing license.
Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check.
