to participate in TB training programs and research with the Global Tuberculosis Institute and with the NJ Department of Health. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assesses the health status of assigned patients as outlined in the nursing standards. Ensures application of the core functions of public health related to tuberculosis care, through the use of the nursing process with the integration of nurse case management throughout the life-span. Plans, implements and evaluates individualized care based on patient assessment and medical plan of care. Provides direct patient care or direction and supervision to other health team members to ensure proper implementation of plan of care. Teaches patient/significant others about health/illnesses state and plan of care. Ensures that patient/significant others are prepared for discharge and health maintenance in the home setting. Minimum Education and Experience: Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of New Jersey is required. Must maintain a license in good standing. At least three (3) years of outpatient experience. At least one (1) year of clinical nursing experience with familiarity in the use of electronic medical records ( EMR ). Ability to lift and move patients with/without reasonable accommodations. WORK ENVIRONMENT : Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
