Summary of Position
Red Rocks Community College is seeking part-time Nursing OB Clinical Instructors to join our dynamic academic team. In this role, instructors will be responsible for teaching courses in nursing, both on-campus and online, in alignment with the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the Colorado Community College System.
We are specifically seeking clinical instructors with a specialty focus in Obstetrics (OB). The ideal candidate will have flexible availability and be willing to work evenings and/or weekends as needed to support clinical instruction and student success.

Part-time Instructors provide instructional duties for the College in their respective areas of expertise. They report to the department chair within the discipline and do not have any supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities include instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties. Instructional delivery may include face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Classes may be held days, evenings, and weekends.
The instructor must be patient and respectful, while also providing their expectations for what is considered acceptable work. The instructor must display dedication to the class as well as the goals of the program.
This position reports to the department chair within the discipline and does not supervise other employees. Occasional meetings or trainings may also be scheduled outside of regular work hours. The finalist must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including for online classes.
**The compensation for this position is $54.84 to $61.50 hourly, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA exempt position and may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System. **

Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Ability to give and receive oral and written instructions and procedures
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach students using traditional and alternative methods of instruction
- Ability to occasionally move, position, and transport classroom and/ or laboratory equipment. Clinical assignments may require the ability to lift and/or move patients
- Ability to work from campus (primarily our Lakewood/Arvada campus with occasional hours at the Lakewood/Arvada campus).
Required Qualifications
- An active, Unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from a nursing education program with national nursing accreditation
- Two years of full-time or equivalent professional nursing practice
- One year of clinical experience relevant to the areas of responsibility
- Current AHA-BLS CPR card.
- Experience teaching and/or training various subjects within the Nursing discipline.
- Has, or qualifies for, postsecondary CTE credential including 4000 paid non-teaching occupational hours within the last 5 years*
- Demonstrate a growth mindset regarding professional development.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education.
- Specialty focus in Obstetrics
- Clinical Scholar (via Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence).
- Experience in facilitating equitable outcomes for customers, key stakeholders, or students using effective inclusive strategies.
- Demonstrate building successful professional relationships and working collaboratively with internal and external constituents and outside agencies.
- Participate and/or lead in professional organizations, committees and/or taskforces.
- Experience with remote and/or online teaching/training and experience developing courses for multiple delivery formats.
- Ability to develop well-defined assessment/evaluation objectives and high-performance standards aligned with expectations.
- Demonstrated commitment working with and supporting students from diverse populations, which may include but are not limited to, historically marginalized communities (people of color, LGBTQ+ community members, veterans, first generation graduates, people with disabilities, etc.).
Physical & Cognitive Demands: The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position:
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills
- Constantly uses a computer and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Occasionally moves, positions, and transports classroom and office equipment, supplies and people weighing up to 150 lbs.
