Position Introduction:

The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art (FJJMA) seeks a part-time Museum Guard to assist with ensuring the safety of the museum's art collection and visitors. The FJJMA offers a unique experience where you can interact with people while being surrounded by an array of artworks.

Under the direction of Security Supervisors, Guards are responsible for securing the museum's collection and facility. They demonstrate a welcoming and friendly attitude and exercise discretion, ingenuity, and independent judgment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, energetic, values the arts, and seeks to provide a welcoming and safe experience for visitors.

Required Skills:

• Ability to properly broadcast and receive information using a two-way radio
• Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
• Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English
• Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with visitors and museum staff
