Occupational Health Resident

Job Overview

Occupational Medicine Residency training is a 2-year commitment to complete educational and clinical requirements of the program.

Essential Functions

• Completion of required and elective clinical practice rotations and industrial practicum experiences.
• Completion of academic course requirements for the OM Residency.
• Completion of academic course requirements for Masters of Public Health degree.
• Preparation for Board certification.
• Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Minimum Requirements

Required Education

• Professional Degree
• MD or DO degree from a US, Canadian or ECFMG - approved program.

Required Trainings/Certifications

• Successful completion of a PGY-1 (clinical year) in a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
• Experience must have included 11 months of direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• International graduates must have either a current valid certificate from ECFMG or a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction in which they are training.
• Passage of Steps I, II, and III of the US Medical Licensing Examination (MDs) or COMLEX-USA (DOs).

Additional Qualifications Considered

• Prior experience in a practice setting which includes Occupational Medicine.
• Prior medical research experience and authorship of peer-reviewed journal publications.
