Occupational Therapist- Hand
To evaluate and treat patients with conditions affecting the hands, wrist, elbows, and shoulders. Assess and treat injuries and conditions such as fractures, tendon and nerve injuries, arthritis, and post-surgical conditions. Develop personalized treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function using therapeutic interventions, including modalities and orthosis fabrication, as prescribed by a physician. This is a float position that will require practicing across multiple clinic locations, depending on staffing needs.
- Evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
- Apply clinical decision-making to adapt and progress treatment based on patient needs
- Document care clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner
- Stay current with best practices and continuing education in occupational therapy
If licensed before 1/1/2007: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. If licensed on or after 1/1/2007: Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. Satisfactory completion of an internship program is necessary. Current Michigan Occupational Therapist License. Registered member of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy- NBCOT. CHT, CHT eligible and/or recent graduate of Michigan Medicine Hand Fellowship. Hand therapy experience.
- Strong adaptability and willingness to work in multiple clinic locations as needed
- Occasional flexible schedule availability
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage a varied caseload across sites
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams and patient populations
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Days, 40 hours per week, not to exceed 10 hours in a single day.
