Occupational Therapy Faculty
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) invites applications for an open-rank, full-time faculty position in the Department of Occupational Therapy—an exciting opportunity for a dynamic educator, clinician, and scholar to shape the next generation of occupational therapy professionals. The University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s Memphis campus comprises six colleges– Health Professions, Dentistry, Graduate Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy. The Memphis Core Teaching Hospitals include St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Methodist Healthcare, Regional One Health, Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, Baptist Memorial Health Care, Memphis VA Medical Center and St. Francis Hospital.
Required Candidate Qualifications:
- Education: Clinical or post-professional Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field (OTD, DrOT, DSc, EdD, ScD, PhD).
- Experience: Three (3) years of post-licensure clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist. Excellent communication, conflict management and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills and a vision for excellence. University or clinical teaching experience in needed content areas. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Licenses: NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist. Licensed and eligible to practice occupational therapy in the State of Tennessee.
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
- Five or more years of post-licensure clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous teaching experience at the university level.
- Experience supervising graduate students.
- Defined research agenda with a history of peer-reviewed publications.
- Evidence of leadership in a professional organization at a state or national level.
- Commitment to lifelong learning.
- Evidence of leadership or administration in clinical practice.
