Office Manager
Job Description Summary
The Office Manager for TSU Aviation’s Ellington Spaceport Office will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the off-campus aviation facility. This position serves as the primary point of contact for students, guests, and staff, and plays a key role in supporting the smooth operation of flight training and administrative activities at Ellington Field.
Essential Duties Summary
- Oversee the daily opening and closing of the Ellington Spaceport Office.
- Provide front-line assistance to aviation students and guests.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming office environment.
- Coordinate communications and logistics between the Ellington office and the main TSU campus.
- Support the Chief Pilot and flight Instructors in daily scheduling and communications.
- Assist in the coordination and scheduling of OPE (Designated Pilot Examiner) check rides.
- Order, track, and maintain office supplies and instructional materials.
- Ensure availability of snacks and beverages for students and visiting cadets.
- Manage fuel ordering and process payment of fuel invoices in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update a guest log of visitors to the facility.
- Ensure landscaping and overall facility maintenance meets TSU standards.
- Liaise with TSU Facilities and IT departments for ongoing support and service needs.
- Provide general administrative support as needed for Ellington operations.
- Coordinate and manage office cleaning personnel.

Work Experience
Equivalent work experience accepted. Minimum 3 years of experience in office management or administrative coordination. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond quickly to changing needs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications. Professional demeanor and commitment to excellent customer service. Experience in aviation, higher education, or university administration is a plus. Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.
Working/Environmental Conditions
Routine office environment. Sitting or standing in one location much of the time. Some stooping, lifting, or carrying objects light weight may be required. Use of video display terminal.
Education
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
