Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for an Office Manager to join our Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions team until 18 December 2026 in a fixed-term, full-time or internal secondment role.
This role is fully onsite at our Kelburn Campus.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing people management and HR administration support.
- Planning and coordinating events.
- Providing comprehensive administrative support and office management.
- Supporting senior leaders with complex scheduling and occasional minute-taking.
- Some financial budgeting, tracking responsibilities.
- Supporting health, safety and wellbeing compliance and initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or coordinator to play a pivotal role supporting senior leaders and contributing to the smooth and effective operation of a large, dynamic portfolio. This role is suited to someone who is highly proactive, takes initiative and anticipates needs in a fast-paced environment.
Key requirements:
- Proven experience in office management or business/administrative operations.
- Experience supporting HR processes and coordinating recruitment and induction activities.
- Strong event coordination and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High levels of accuracy, initiative and ability to meet deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- A full driver’s license and working knowledge of health and safety requirements.
