- Greets and assists all residents and visitors with excellent customer service and welcoming demeanor.
- Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons.
- Makes themselves clearly visible and patrols premises to prevent and detects signs of intrusion, and ensures security of doors, windows and gates.
- Guards against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Inspects and patrols interior of building and time scans checkpoints throughout the campus.
- Answers alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Logs report of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences in the Officer Assist application.
- Makes suggestions for improvement on taking precautions on how to prevent security-threatening situations.
- Calls police or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic First Aid and contacting nursing staff as necessary.
- Relieves Front Desk staff for breaks and meal.
- Sorts and delivers resident newspapers.
- Monitor controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning, furnace or boiler.
- Maintains confidentiality of information under Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and Channing House policy.
- Attends all mandatory in-service and safety procedure exercises and meetings.
- Remains awake and alert at all times, on all shifts.
