Skills/Qualifications

1. Hold a PhD degree from a Greek or foreign institution and have documented experience and proven track record relevant to the subject of the Announcement.

   Be scientists of high scientific experience and training, holders of a doctoral degree (PhD), working independently and autonomously to generate or improve knowledge and apply it for the production of products, devices, processes, methods and systems.

   The research or scientific work of the candidates should be related to the subject area of the position to be filled.

2. Have the minimum qualifications specified in Article 18 of Law 4310/2014 as amended and currently in force with the Article 16, of Law 4386/11.05.2016 "Research Regulations and other provisions" (Government Gazette (GG) 83 Α΄/2016), as amended:

   For Grade B Researcher, the following are required:

   Candidates are required to have documented ability to organize and manage research and technological development programs, coordinate and direct research and technological development in individual projects of the research and technological development program, seek and attract financial resources from external sources to fund the activities of the institute or center and promote innovative ideas in science and technology. They are also required to have published original articles in internationally recognized scientific and technical journals or to hold international patents and to have contributed to the advancement of science and technology and their applications, and their contribution to the advancement of science and technology must have been recognized by other researchers.

   For Grade C Researcher, the following are required:

   Candidates are required to have a documented ability to plan and execute research and technological development projects or parts of projects, to allocate parts or phases of the project to other researchers and to supervise or mentor them. They are also required to have published original research papers in internationally recognized scientific journals.

3. Be Greek citizens or citizens of European Union Member States

   For EU citizens, knowledge (level Β1) of the Greek language is required, demonstrated by a degree from a Greek higher education institution, or a Greek high school or six-year secondary school diploma, or a Certificate of Attainment in Greek from the Centre for the Greek Language, or an equivalent certificate from the School of Modern Greek Language of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, awarded after an examination.

4. Not have any impediment due to criminal conviction, pending trial, prohibition, or judicial guardianship.
5. Male candidates must have fulfilled their military service obligations or have been legally discharged from them. This requirement does not apply to citizens of a European Union member state, where no equivalent impediment to appointment exists.

Specific Requirements

• An application form (Annex I), in which the candidate request that his/her candidature be accepted and indicate the supporting documents to be submitted.
• A copy of both sides of their identity card or passport (for citizens of Member States of the European Union, a certificate issued by the competent authority of the State of which the candidate is a national).
• A detailed curriculum vitae, in accordance with the guidelines of the European Union (in Greek and in English).
• Copies of diplomas proving the required typical qualifications:
  • Plain and legible copies if issued by a public body, or
  • Simple and legible copies of private documents, provided they have been originally certified by a lawyer, as well as clear photocopies of the originals of those private documents that are certified by the services and institutions that fall under the regulation of Law 4250/2014, or
  • Clear photocopies of foreign documents, provided that these documents have been originally certified by a lawyer. In the case of qualifications from foreign universities, the university institution that awards the title must be included in the National Registry of Foreign Recognized Higher Education Institutes – https://www.doatap.gr/national-registry-of-foreign-recognized-higher-education-institutes/, or that a certificate of recognition from the DOATAP (Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center - https://www.doatap.gr/home_english/) be submitted.
• Scientific Publications (Reprints of papers).
• A detailed statement on their scientific and research work (in English).
• A summary of their research interests (in English).
• Statutory Declaration of Law 1599/1986 (only males) that at the time of their appointment they will have fulfilled their military obligations or have been legally exempted from them.
• Statutory Declaration of Law 1599/1986 that the candidate has the typical qualifications.
