Open Access Adviser

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated and highly organised colleague to join the Library’s well regarded, friendly Open Research team. This post is focused on Open Access, a major aspect of Open Research.
As a part-time, permanent post, the Open Access Adviser will work with academic and professional services stakeholders to maximise the visibility and reputation of the University’s research publications. You will report on the completeness of the University’s publications repository, identifying missing publications and devising solutions. You will ensure that researchers’ profiles are up-to-date in bibliographic tools and databases. Together with the Research Publications Adviser, you will enable researchers to achieve Open Access, providing expert advice and training and approving funding requests for Open Access publishing charges.
You will have:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of research publications and Open Access.
- Experience of working in a relevant library environment or publishing environment or higher education environment.
- Strong commitment to a high standard of user-focused service delivery.

This is a 0.5 FTE, permanent professional services post. It requires 17.5 hours per week to be worked in no less than three days per week throughout the year. One of the days worked should be a Tuesday or a Wednesday. It is a campus-based role.
