Job Summary

James M Hull College of Business at Augusta University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Management at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2026. The selected candidate must have a demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions. About 40% of the workload will be dedicated to research and faculty development. Course load will be 2-3 courses per semester term, or about 50% of the workload. Candidates should be prepared to deliver courses online, as hybrid online/face-to-face, and face-to-face.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate courses in Management, conduct peer-reviewed research, and provide service to the university, college, community and/or profession.

Teaching 50%

Teach classes during the academic year as assigned by the Dean, to include all of the duties and obligations expected of a college professor not limited to, but including grading, maintaining regular office hours, class preparations, and following university policies regarding teaching.

Research 40%

Persistent scholarship leading to national/international recognition and impact. Key measures of success include publications and presentations appropriate to your field, which can include articles on instruction in your field as well as other activities.

Service 10%

Service to Augusta University as requested by the Dean, service to the profession, including local, regional, and national/international leadership within the discipline.

Required Qualifications

PhD in Management, or a closely related field. Demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions. Equally important is the demonstrated capability or potential for teaching excellence within the discipline.

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member.

Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Per Board of Regents (BOR) policy, Professors must have a terminal degree.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be: Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation; Evidence of ability as a teacher; Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned; Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and, Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

A record of excellence in teaching and learning is desired along with excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Published or forthcoming peer reviewed publications in related disciplines and prior work experience in the finance field - interest in interaction and relationship building with local businesses, industry, and stakeholders.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0. Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.
