Job Summary
The Department of Neurology at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking to recruit a dynamic candidate to expand its clinical and/or basic science research programs within our Neuromuscular Section. The position is full time faculty, with the opportunity for academic promotion, which is determined on criteria of demonstrated excellence in the areas of education, research, clinical care, and community service.
Job Duties
Clinical days involve patients with neuromuscular disorders. Opportunity to perform electrodiagnostic studies, biopsies and neuromuscular pathology. No inpatient attending responsibilities. General weeknight evening call on the general neurology service approximately once per month. Participation in neuromuscular call rotation covering 5p-8p weeknights required. Participation in all administrative/didactic meetings of the neuromuscular section expected. Develop ultrasound program, educating trainees and building service line. Involvement in teaching students, residents, and fellows and Quality and Performance Improvement projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Experience in an academic hospital setting
- Board Certified Neurologist
- Board Certification in Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, or documented longstanding care or research in this field
- Neuromuscular ultrasound certification preferred
- Record of ongoing research activity and funding
- State of Colorado medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before hire date
- Scholarly and academic record consistent with appointment at the appropriate rank
