Job Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Cardiology, at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, to serve as a Pediatric Electrophysiologist. Candidates should be BE/BC in Pediatric Cardiology with an additional year of pediatric/congenital electrophysiology training and eligible for licensure in Georgia. Expertise in managing complex arrhythmias and implanted cardiac rhythm devices in complex congenital heart disease is required. This position is not on a tenure track.

Responsibilities

Patient Care - 90%

• Become board certified in Pediatric Cardiology by year three.
• Provide high-quality, comprehensive care in pediatric cardiology to improve quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
• Participate in clinical duties including inpatient consultations, outpatient practice, satellite clinics, and on-call duties.
• Meet metrics for Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE).
• Increase productivity through clinical services in pediatric cardiology.
• Meet wRVU productivity targets set by the department.
• Promote professional relationships and build referral patterns with physicians.
• Provide prompt feedback to referring physicians.

Teaching/Instruction - 10%

• Provide education and training to fellows, residents, medical students, and healthcare professionals, including clinical supervision, consultation, and didactics.
• Support the Pediatric Cardiology fellowship program.
• Achieve and maintain teaching evaluation scores at or above the department mean.
• Attend 50% or more of weekly pediatric Grand Rounds presentations and monthly faculty meetings.

Required Qualifications

Competitive candidates must have an MD/DO or equivalent, completed an ACGME-approved residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology with an additional year of electrophysiology training. Must be eligible for Georgia medical license, have a federal DEA, and be CPR certified.

For Assistant Professor: Early career faculty with appropriate post-graduate training.

For Associate Professor: Mid-level career with at least five years as Assistant Professor or equivalent.

For Professor: Senior-level career with at least five years as Associate Professor or equivalent.

Required qualifications include evidence of teaching ability, scholarly activity, and successful experience.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
