Open Rank Clinical Faculty in Radiology and Imaging
Job Summary
The Department of Radiology and Imaging at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University is recruiting a faculty member at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to serve as an Interventional Radiologist. This is an opportunity to join a department in expansion, including growing the Georgia Cancer Center and developing a second hospital site. Fellowship/integrated residency training in Interventional Radiology (IR) and current or anticipated board certification in IR are required. Candidates should have an interest in teaching medical students as well as diagnostic and integrated IR/DR residents. Responsibilities include clinical service and teaching with opportunities for clinical research in a busy tertiary and quaternary care center, Wellstar MCG Health. The center has ACGME accredited IR integrated residency and diagnostic residency programs. Academic time is provided, and new research projects are encouraged. Candidates with leadership experience may apply for Section Chief of Interventional Radiology.
Responsibilities
90% Clinical: Providing patient care through procedures and clinical care.
10% Teaching: Providing education to medical students, residents, and fellows through clinical care and lectures.
Required Qualifications
MD, DO or foreign equivalent; Georgia Medical License and DEA License to practice. Instructor: Entry level with 0-2 years of experience. Assistant Professor: Early level career with appropriate post graduate training. Associate Professor: Mid level career with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor. Professor: Senior level with at least five years at rank of Associate Professor. Required qualifications include evidence of ability as a teacher, activity as a scholar, and successful experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Board certified.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year based and full-time (1.0 FTE). Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, and wellness options. Rank and salary are based on experience, education, and other factors.
