The Medical College of Georgia Department of Surgery at Augusta University is seeking a full-time Vascular Surgeon to join our faculty at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The division is part of an academic general surgery program which includes a general surgery residency, clinical research program and a busy clinical practice at AU Health. AU Health is a tertiary care level 1 Trauma Center with a large multi-specialty practice. The practice has a fully integrated vascular lab and access to a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room and Cath Labs.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care, education and research in the field of Vascular Surgery.
- Provide clinical and call coverage as outlined by the Section Chief.
- As a Clinician-Educator, train students and residents.
- Maintain appropriate clinical records relating to patients treated to the extent required by applicable state and federal laws.
- Produce the appropriate number of RVU's for specialty and work effort.
- Participate in the educational programs of the Department, which includes teaching, service, training, preceptorship, mentoring, etc. The division is part of an academic surgery department which includes a general surgery residency, clinical research program and a busy clinical practice at AU Health.
Required Qualifications
MD/DO degree; Qualified candidates should be board-certified in Vascular surgery with a minimum of 1-5 years of experience.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
- Evidence of ability as a teacher;
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
- Candidates must be board-certified in vascular surgery, and should have at least five years of clinical experience.
