Responsibilities
Clinical- 40%
Patient Care (Seeing private patients and precepting residents)
Research- 60%
Research : Secure external funding from agencies such as the NIH, CDC, or HRSA
Study Oversight: Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) for clinical trials and observational studies
Translational Scholarship: Transform clinical care data into high-impact, peer-reviewed publications and national presentations to influence medical guidelines
Research Mentorship: Mentor junior faculty in grant writing, study design, and abstract preparation
Strategic Collaboration: Act as a research liaison between the DFCM and other MCG departments to foster interdisciplinary maternal-health study groups
Required Qualifications
MD, DO or equivalent. Eligible for licensure in Georgia and credentialing at MCG's partner Academic Medical Center. Teaching experience.
Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
