About the Opportunity

The Khoury College of Computer Sciences is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Senior Co-op Education Coordinator to work with our graduate student population. Khoury College of Computer Sciences has a robust co-op program for graduate students and its rapid expansion in Boston and at emerging network campuses now requires more support to continue developing and growing the program. This is a full time, non-tenure track faculty position, primarily working with students in master's programs in Khoury College on the Boston, Online, Oakland, Arlington, and Miami campuses. You will join a team of three graduate co-op colleagues, and work in close collaboration with the graduate academic advising team, undergraduate co-op team, and colleagues within Northeastern's network.

Responsibilities:

Education of Students:

The Co-op Coordinator guides students through their career development, co-op experiences, and experiential learning. They educate, advise, and coach students, developing and providing effective asynchronous teaching and coaching programs that enable students to be successful in today's global business environment. This includes, but is not limited to, working with students one-on-one and in group coaching sessions.

Preparation includes teaching tools appropriate for co-op search including resume writing, interviewing skills, professional behavior and communication, workplace ethics, and leadership skills.

The Co-op Coordinator also maintains contact with students while engaged in their co-op experience and works with students through their post-co-op reflection.

Integrated Learning:

Cooperative education is an integral part of the academic experience at Northeastern and our philosophy is that learning in the classroom is enriched by practical experience, and practical experience enriches classroom learning. The Coordinator collaborates with academic faculty, administration, and the co-op community to guide students in the integration of their co-op and academic experiences.

Employer Relations:

The coordinators will develop and maintain an understanding of industry/field, employers, and positions available to Khoury students. The coordinators will conduct site visits to new and existing employers during student placements to assess student success, employer satisfaction and opportunities for additional co-op positions. The coordinators will work closely with the Partnerships team to review new accounts and identify opportunities for deepening employer relationships. The coordinators will work with the business development team, as needed, on employer related on-campus or virtual events.

Qualifications:

• A master's degree in college student development, counseling, education, psychology or a business-related field is required by the appointment start date, as well a minimum of three years of professional work experience.
• Experience as a career coach, certification preferable, but not required.
• Teaching experience in a workshop or asynchronous format.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, and comfort presenting to diverse audiences
• Demonstrated commitment to achieving and maintaining engagement and belonging in the workplace
• Proficiency in technology and database maintenance, and strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge and appreciation of cooperative education and/or experiential learning and its impact on an individual's career development
• Ability to effectively engage a diverse network of global stakeholders, across time zones.

Pay Range:

Assistant Coop Coordinator: $67,000.00 - $82,000.00 | Associate Coop Coordinator: $73,000.00 - $90,000.00 | Senior Coop Coordinator: $92,000.00 - $114,000.00

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
