Job Description
The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a full-scope Family or Internal Medicine physician (no OB) to join The Pam Muma Women's Health Center to provide high-quality concierge medicine within primary care and contribute to an engaging academic environment focused on team-based care and patient outcomes. The candidate must be licensed in Florida and able to be credentialed as a participant in the MCOM Faculty Practice Plan who is privileged to perform the essential functions of a Family Medicine physician and be a Medical Staff member in good standing in the hospitals or health care organizations where they are assigned to perform clinical duties. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive, preventative, and longitudinal primary care to a limited patient panel, ensuring continuity, accessibility, and exceptional quality of care.
Responsibilities
Deliver personalized, proactive primary and preventative care for a limited concierge panel. Conduct comprehensive wellness visits, health assessments, and diagnostic reviews. Manage chronic diseases and coordinate specialty care and hospital interactions when needed. Offer same-day or next-day appointments, extended consultations, and direct physician access (phone, secure portal). Develop individualized care and wellness plans, integrating nutrition, fitness, and preventative strategies. Lead care coordination with a dedicated nursing and concierge support team. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to elevate patient outcomes and satisfaction. Collaborate with leadership to enhance the concierge medicine program and its offerings.
Responsibilities include:
- Administrative: Management of non-patient-facing clinical duties, including tasking, patient phone calls, and communication with staff to manage patient needs.
- Clinical: Direct outpatient care for patients at the Pamela Muma Women's Center.
- Other Duties: May include helping to grow concierge medicine, working with practice plan leadership to further concierge medicine at USF Health and Tampa General Hospital.
- Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, and active or eligible for unrestricted medical license in Florida. Strong diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to high-touch, patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate, or Full Professor.
- Previous experience in a concierge or private internal medicine practice. Proven record of exceptional patient satisfaction and retention. Interest in integrative or lifestyle medicine approaches.
