Open Rank Faculty- Center for Biotechnology and Genomic Medicine
Job Summary
The Center for Biotechnology and Genomic Medicine (CBGM) at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Candidates should be distinguished investigators with NIH funding, expertise in cardiovascular research, molecular genomics, and/or vision research. The position is tenure-track, and the successful candidate will develop an independent research program.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge research in cardiovascular research, vision research, and/or molecular genomics.
- Design and execute research experiments, perform data analysis, write manuscripts, and publish results.
- Establish independent extramurally funded research programs.
- Develop new methods and technology, and collaborate with others in the laboratory and department.
- Assist with training and supervision of students, postdocs, and technicians.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D., MD, or equivalent; research experience and extramural funding. Requirements vary by rank: Assistant Professor (early career with appropriate training), Associate Professor (mid-level with at least five years as Assistant Professor), Professor (senior-level with at least five years as Associate Professor). Must demonstrate ability as a teacher, scholar, and in other assigned duties.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This is a full-time, fiscal year-based position. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds.
