Qualified to be appointed as a faculty member in the College of
Dentistry (rank commensurate with qualifications).
Clinical proficiency in Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine
(including special needs dentistry).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Residency: Certificate of advanced education
in Oral Pathology or Oral Medicine from a CODA-approved
program.
- Teaching Experience and Expertise: Experienced
dental educator with experience in curriculum and course
development and teaching at the predoctoral level. Interested in
educational innovation and up to date on contemporary educational
approaches. Openness to new educational approaches. Didactic,
preclinical, and clinical teaching experience preferred.
- Accreditation Knowledge and Experience:
Knowledge of, and experience with, accreditation of predoctoral
dental education programs by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
(CODA). Able to collaborate with college administration to ensure
ongoing compliance with CODA standards.
- Board Certification: Board eligibility or
certification by the American Academy of Oral Pathology or the
American Board of Oral Medicine is preferred but not required.
- Collaborative: Can work collaboratively with
administrators, faculty, staff, and students at the college and the
university.
- Humanistic Environment: Committed to building
a humanistic culture/climate within the college and to fostering
student success.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to utilize a phone,
computer and other office equipment.
