Job Summary
The Department of Psychology and Counseling at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling to start in the Spring of 2027 or the Fall of 2027. This is a full-time tenured or tenure-track position with a nine-month academic year appointment in the clinical mental health counseling (CMHC) program in the Department of Psychology and Counseling within the School of Health Professions at the University of Texas at Tyler. The CACREP-accredited CMHC program at the University of Texas at Tyler is an in person 60-hour Master of Arts degree. Students who graduate with a degree from our program meet the coursework requirements for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Pursue an active scholarly research agenda.
- Teach graduate courses in counseling
- Supervising CMHC students in their internship and practicum coursework.
- Advise counseling students.
- Provide service to the counseling profession at a local, state, and/or national levels, and participate collaboratively in program, department, college and university governance.
